Dr Sahil Vohra completed his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery in India in 2002. Since arriving in Australia in 2006, he has had broad experience in managing complex post-operative patients during his work in Intensive Care Units. Dr Vohra completed his Fellowship in General Medicine with RACP in 2020.
Dr Vohra currently provides inpatient care in several hospitals, including Newcastle Private Hospital, Maitland Private Hospital, Canberra Hospital, Lingard Private Hospital and Hunter Valley Private Hospital.
His outpatient clinics include Newcastle Private Hospital rooms, Internal Medical Australia in Gosford and Rutherford Clinic with Lower Hunter Medical.
Telehealth and video conferencing are available.
Dr Vohra is committed to delivering exceptional medical care to his patients which is based on evidence-based practise and 25 years of medical experience. At our practice, we understand that medical care can be stressful. Dr Vohra is here to provide support and guidance.
Dr Vohra currently resides in Newcastle, NSW, with his wife Jessica (a Diabetes Educator) and their seven children. He enjoys spending time with his family on camping trips, going to the beach, and riding his bike around the surrounding suburbs.

Dr Sahil Vohra
Dr Vohra covers a variety of services, including health areas such as the heart, lungs, chronic fatigue post COVID (long COVID), gastrointestinal disorders, musculoskeletal, immunology, renal, neurology, endocrine and dermatology. All with a GP or specialist referral.
A comprehensive assessment prior to surgery, including blood work (pathology), imaging, and medical assessment, is followed by post-operative care, providing the patient with specialised care to improve health outcomes and minimise hospital length of stay.
A patient is booked in with a surgeon for a total left knee replacement. The surgeon refers to Dr Vohra for a peri-operative assessment prior to surgery to ensure the patient's health is in the best condition for upcoming surgery. Dr Vohra will review pathology and imaging results and help to manage diabetes and any other conditions that may impact the patient's care before, during or after surgery. A comprehensive letter will be sent back to the surgeon within days of the appointment. Once the surgery is complete, Dr Vohra will review the patient post-operatively on the following days.
Dr Vohra can provide general health assessment and clearance letters for patients wanting to engage in fitness or exercises.
This service is available for patients needing assistance with their diabetes management. Areas of cover include Type 1 diabetes mellitus, Type 2 diabetes mellitus, LADA, CGMS commencement/education, blood glucose meter update, insulin education. This service is undertaken with the Credentialled Diabetes Educator-Jessica Vohra.
